I honestly think some of the conversations at lunch have been my favorite moments. There are so many smart, funny, interesting people that the things you learn and think about in casual conversation here can be as valuable as the research.

Project

I worked on two projects this summer.   I researched minority/pre-majority unions and conducted a number of interviews as well as a literature review. For both fellows I looked into ways to expand their idea of labor as a civil right into practical policy applications.

Reflection

I loved getting the chance to learn so much about the topic of unions this summer, which was relatively new to me, while also writing about issues I already cared about for blog posts, like wage theft.
